‘Top 3 Beef Farmer of the Year’
In 2018, Anthony and Chantal Winter were recognised among Australia’s top three Beef Farmers of the Year; an achievement that reflects years of commitment, creating a seamless approach from genetics and breeding through to raising high-performing Wagyu cattle.
The recognition acknowledged not only the performance of the Macquarie Wagyu operation, but also the philosophy behind it: creating a connected approach from genetics and breeding through to feeding, performance and final product outcomes.
For Anthony and Chantal, the achievement represented the collective effort of the entire team and the long-term decisions that continue to shape the business today.
Their focus has always centred on building a sustainable and high-performing Wagyu program. One that balances exceptional cattle performance with consistency, efficiency and continuous improvement.
A few words from (find article author again!!!), “Anthony and Chantal Winter’s approach to beef farming is unique. They oversee 650 fullblood Wagyu females, producing about 250 tonnes of beef a year, and make all breeding decisions based on how a cow’s offspring ultimately performs on the plate.”
Operating in an industry that demands both precision and adaptability, the recognition reinforced the importance of remaining focused on the fundamentals while continuing to evolve and embrace new opportunities.
Being named among Australia’s leading beef producers was a proud milestone for Macquarie Wagyu and remains an important moment in our story. It’s recognising not just where the business had reached, but the foundations being built for the future.
We’re incredibly proud of Anthony and Chantal and grateful to everyone who has contributed to the journey along the way.
