Q0291 achieves leading result
At the 2024 Elite Wagyu Sale in Cairns, Macquarie Wagyu once again achieved a standout result - with Q0291 topping the semen sale and reinforcing the strength and consistency of our breeding program.
Selling at $ 8,000 AUD per straw, Q0291 attracted significant attention from across the industry before being secured by the partnership of Wilders Wagyu and Twins Oaks Wagyu.
But for us, the result represented more than a sale record.
Q0291 is the son of the legendary G113. A sire whose influence has helped shape modern Wagyu breeding and established a benchmark for performance and genetic impact. As a next-generation sire, Q0291 represents the continuation of that legacy while bringing his own unique strengths and future potential to the industry.
The demand shown at the Elite Sale reflects growing confidence in carefully selected genetics and the importance of long-term breeding decisions that create measurable outcomes across commercial and seedstock operations alike.
This milestone also continues a proud record for Macquarie Wagyu at the Elite Sale. Between 2017 and 2024, Macquarie genetics have achieved the highest-priced semen offering on six occasions; including one year delivering the second-highest result and one year where no entry was submitted.
While sale outcomes are exciting moments, they are ultimately a reflection of years of disciplined breeding, performance data and a commitment to continually improving the next generation.
We’re incredibly proud to see Q0291 recognised on one of the industry’s biggest stages and excited to watch the impact he will continue to make in the years ahead.
