Macquarie Wagyu at WagyuEdge'26

April 2026 saw the Macquarie Wagyu team travel to Brisbane to attend WagyuEdge’26. One of Australia’s leading events for the Wagyu industry, and an opportunity to connect with producers, breeders, and industry leaders from across the country and the world.

The Australian Wagyu Association (AWA) Conference continues to be an important forum for sharing ideas, recognising achievements and discussing the future direction of Australian Wagyu. From genetics and market opportunities to innovation and long-term sustainability, the event brought together people with a shared commitment to advancing the breed and strengthening the industry.

For the Macquarie Wagyu team, the conference was also a chance to reconnect with long-standing industry relationships and celebrate the people helping shape the future of Wagyu production in Australia.

A particularly meaningful moment during the event was seeing Chantal invited to introduce the newest recipient, Peter Gilmour, Founder of Iron Gate Wagyu, to the Honorary Life Membership of the AWA.

In Chantal’s words, “it was an absolute privilege and honour discussing this award in front of industry peers. Peter has had a profound impact on the wagyu community. His vision, insight and uncompromising commitment towards the breed and the whole wagyu industry is unsurpassed

Moments like these are a reminder that while progress, performance and innovation continue to drive the industry forward, the people and relationships behind it remain at the heart of Australian Wagyu.
